Meet the Trainer

Kris

My love for dogs began at the ripe old age of two.  As a toddler I spent my days with our familie's Irish Setter, routinely crawling into his bed and hiding my crackers for us to share later.   After moving from Germany to the United States, I continued to follow my passion for dogs and volunteered at local shelters.  Today I am involved in rescue work, where I foster and rehabilitate dogs.

In 2017 we adopted our hound who had some behavior issues.  He inspired me to look deeper into the psychology involved in behavior modification and learning theory of dogs.  After seeing him evolve into a more well rounded member of our pack I realized I could help other families achieve this same balance and embarked on my journey to become a dog trainer.

I am certified through the Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CPDT-KA) and have completed my certification in canine CPR and first aid.  I am a member of NAPPS (National Association of Professional Pet Sitters) and APDT (Association of Professional Dog Trainers).  In addition I am an evaluator for the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy and CGC programs.
